How to tie a star knot

In this tutorial I will show you how to tie a star knot.
The star knot is another decorative knot that sometimes intimidates knotters. It looks hard to make and does indeed take a bit of an effort, but I truthfully find it looks harder to make than it actually is.

The knot has a ton of useful applications and can be used in a lanyard, as a zipper pull, as a decoration for a dog leash and has many other useful applications.

I am proud to know how to tie this knot and so, let me show you how to make one yourself!

How to make a star knot

A star knot is made by first setting up the outer part by forming four loops. The fifth loop is made when you start to double your star knot cord by following the cord around the knot a second time. When the cord is doubled, all there is, is to tighten it and you are done!
