In this tutorial I will show you how to make a paracord pendant.
When I made this pendant I wanted to call it a medallion. Sadly, the word medallion implies the item is made out of metal, which my pendant is not.
The design is made using a regular overhand knot, some half hitches and a few lanyard knots. It makes for a beautiful design which you can use for many of your projects. The most attractive part of this pendant is the half hitched “wheel” part which is made around a O-ring. I also started using rope thimbles, which I find amazing for anything that requires a loop.
How to make the paracord pendant
The process for making these pendants is fairly simple. You half the cord, then make an overhand knot. I continue by dressing up the O-ring with half hitches from both sides. Make sure you make about an equal number of knots on each side. The ends I make into diamond/lanyard knots.
At the end I insert a rope thimble into the loop where the necklace will run through. This not only improves the look, but the functionality also.
With those instructions in hand, let’s make ourselves a pendant!
